My Whanau

My whanau snickers a lot of times. And they

can roar very loudly at something that is funny. They also chuckle and chortle. My whanau will always help any time I need them. I love my whanau so much because they are always with me and always there for me. They can also laugh with me. I think that God gave me the perfect family. My mum and dad will always read to me and my sisters when it’s bed time and I love them very much.

I love my sisters because they cheer me up by playing with me. My dog makes me warm at

bed time. My dog is the  best pet in my life. My family makes me feel like it is home to me. Thank you mum dad and my sisters and my pet dog. This is the best Family that God could have given to me.

Thank you God for my family.

 Amen.

Today, we learnt how to add a helpful and thoughtful comment to a blog post reply… A helpful tip is to have a buddy read and listen to our comments. some of the skills  we used today, were arrange to the back, rotate and move our arrows into position.

My Matariki kite

We read a book about the Seven Kites of Matariki. Tomorrow it will be Matariki and we will not come to school. It is Maori New Year.

We  were making Matariki kites because in the book we read about Matariki there were seven sisters and they were Waiti, Waita, Ururangi and four others. They were making kites for Matariki. Ururangi made a rainbow kite. After the kites were finished they all threw them in the air.

Wed to make some kites too and we decid used brown bags which we cut in half. Then we painted them and I painted my half purple and the other half was in Maori patterns. I enjoyed that part.

Later I plaited the tail and added a feather and piece of fern branch to make it look really good.

When we came to weaving today, I found it tricky at first but then I persevered and finished my kite.

Torty, the Lucky Tortoise

Torty was a tortoise that Stewart, the New Zealand soldier met in Greece during World War 1. She got run over by a gun carriage. Stewart saw this and thought that the tortoise was dead but she was ok. She lost some toes and also had a big scratch on her shell. So Stewart took the tortoise to NZ then and they became best friends forever.

My drawing of Torty.
